I started guiding in Southern Oregon shortly after I turned 18 (1980). Where I fished the Rogue, Elk, Sixes, Chetco, Smith, Mad and Eel rivers of California. I fished the seasonal runs of salmon and steelhead and worked part time at a Sporting goods Store. In early 1982 I filmed a show on the Chetco for Fall Chinooks with Larry Schoenborn. At the time the show was called Fishing The West.

Over the next six years we expanded our business to include nine full-time drift boat guides, five power boat guides and two charter boats. During this time I filmed two more shows, one with Fishing The West for Steelhead on the Smith in California. The second was Ocean Salmon for the Country Network with Little Jimmy Dickens.

We have had articles in the Wall street Journal, San Francisco Journal, Salmon Trout Steelhead and even made the Cover of STS. I was also a featured speaker at the San Mateo Sports show for clear water Steelhead.

We expanded to Alaska and operated on the Kenai River as Fishing The West Tours which was a partnership I formed with Larry Schoenborn. Then I opened Perry's Fishing Lodge on the Chetco River and we continued to grow and expand our business.

I continued to guide for a couple of years and continued to work on Fishing The West Tours for our Alaska Business. In 1992, at the age of 30, I fell in love got married and took a job as a general manager for a resort in Seaside. I have since returned to the fishing business.

Our plan now is to operate a family business that will grow and expand allowing our kids to have an opportunity to be involved.

We currently operate year-round, fishing the Columbia River for Salmon. Sturgeon and Steelhead. We offer drift boat Salmon and Steelhead trips on all Oregon waters.
